More About Us
The Way We Operate:
"Horse People" have many different ways of doing things. We
wanted to find a common ground on which all of our clients could agree,
which is the reason why, on our Home Page, we state, "Our approach is based on
US Pony Club principals of... Riding and Care of Horses." Allow us to explain:
It should be mentioned that Trinity Equestrian Center has no official
affiliation with the United States Pony Club at this time.
However, we believe that the methods and standards taught by Pony
Clubs (also very similar to the British Horse Society) are among the very
best, "tried and true" after having been in use on several continents
for almost a century. Therefore we have chosen to operate our
farm and educate our students using the same principles taught by this
world-renowned organization.
For those who are not familiar with the USPC, please do not be misled by the
name. Pony Club uses the term "pony" to refer to any size
mount ridden by any young person. The knowledge and
experienced offered by a Pony Club education is applicable to
riders of all ages
, and covers a wide range, from a fun and safe start for beginner
riders, all the way to the highly challenging advanced levels which can
prepare one for a professional career with horses.
TEC's own Kelly Rodriguez got her start in the Charleston Pony Club in the
1980's and continues to use what she learned then with our horses and riders
here every day!
More information on the USPC as well as many useful resources can be found at
www.ponyclub.org

We highly recommend The United States Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship
for horse lovers of all ages!
We also recommend any books by noted Horsewoman and Author Cherry

All of our Safety Standards (below) are based on principles taught by the U.S.
Pony Club. They exist to ensure everyone’s enjoyment and protection!
For explanations and more information, see note above, and The United
States Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship
, Vol. 1, by Susan E. Harris c.1994, pp. 23-24 & pp 131-158.
A note to experienced adult riders:
We ask that all riders at TEC observe the following standards regardless of age
and riding level. We feel it would by hypocritical to make exceptions;
and we hope our most experienced clients, by their own
examples, will be glad to take part in our mission to our younger and less
experienced riders.
Our Safety Rules
